Job Description
• Full-time, project-based, represented WPEA position with an anticipated October 2026–March 2029 project and year-round employment.
• Perform hazardous fuels reduction on priority sites around the Arcadia District, including non-commercial tree thinning with chain saws, tree pruning, and slash abatement through prescribed fire, chipping, or windrowing for mechanical mastication.
• Serve as a wildland firefighter on a Type 5 brush engine during fire season and conduct safe, efficient wildfire initial attack.
• Operate in NWCG Wildland Fire positions including Incident Commander Type 5 and Firefighter 1, depending on incident scale.
• Requires a high school diploma/GED or ability to obtain a GED within 12 months of hire and NWCG “Red Card” Firefighter 2 qualification; field/on-site work is implied by fire-line and fuels-reduction duties.
• Salary: $3,565.00–$4,746.00 monthly.
